ebuild hydraulic piston rods with PKC’s new PK-150 hard chrome replacement coating.  PK-150 is guaranteed to last longer, and be more impact (dent) resistant than conventional chrome plating.

PK-150 provides a new alternative to standard hard chrome plating, and offers the following advantages through improved chemistry:

Ü       Superior wear resistance Ü       Superior corrosion resistance Ü       Improved impact (dent) resistance Ü       Thicker coating (.020” per side) Ü       Excellent frictional properties Ü       Less expensive than chrome plating Ü       HVOF process eliminates toxicity issues associated with conventional chrome plating.

PK-150 provides improved impact (dent) resistance to foreign objects such as stones or rocks on earth moving equipment.  Deep dents in pistons can be repaired at no additional charge.

A similar coating is now being used as a chrome plating alternative on landing gears for both commercial and military aircraft. In government (DoD – Projects HCAT) testing, a PK-150 type HVOF coating was proven to have superior wear and impact resistance when compared to that of conventional chrome plating.
